Frequently asked questions
Do you have aguachile?
Yes. We make green and black aguachile with fresh shrimp daily, plus a fish ceviche. These are raw dishes cured in lime — ask your server if you'd like it less spicy.
What are the hours for Mariscos Costa Alegre in San José?
All three locations are open every day, usually from 10:00 AM, closing between 9:00 and 10:30 PM depending on the day. Each location has its own schedule — check its page: Alum Rock, 13th Street or Monterey Hwy. Hours may vary on holidays.
Do you do catering?
Yes, we offer catering for private and corporate events. Call us directly to get a quote — group size and menu selection determine pricing.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, through DoorDash and Uber Eats. For pickup, call us directly and your order will be ready when you arrive.
Do you take reservations?
Yes, Monday through Friday you can request a table online and pick which of the three locations you want. We don't take reservations on Saturdays or Sundays, but you can join the waitlist from the same page.
Which dishes contain raw seafood?
The green aguachile, black aguachile, and fish ceviche are prepared with seafood cured in lime rather than cooked with heat. These are clearly marked with an icon on the menu.
What kind of sushi does Mariscos Costa Alegre serve?
We make Costa Alegre style rolls: Japanese sushi technique with Mexican flavors, like the Mango Habanero Roll and the Costa Alegre Roll with spicy tuna.

In San José we have three: Alum Rock, 13th Street and Monterey Hwy, all with the same menu and the same specials. We also have a Gilroy location, which operates independently.
